Clerks II (2006) : Review
Ten years after the original Clerks which was Kevin Smith’s first movie the remake is done with a much higher budget.
Starring the original Dante Hicks and Randall Graves along with the duo of Jay of Silent Bob, life goes on for Dante and Randall. The Quick Stop convenience store they had worked at burns down and they are currently working at an unsuccessful fast food restaurant. Dante and Randall are now into their 30s and it’s time they feel like this is the last time to fix their lives. Dante wants to get somewhere and plans to move away from Jersey with his fiancee to start a new life.
This movie was funny and had me laughing. I like that type of random humour with funny comments. I liked how Jay and Silent Bob played important roles instead of just being outside selling drugs. I’m glad I saw both Clerks and Clerks 2. I went away being satisfied at the quality. I know some people may be offended or not find it funny but I think it’s more about taste. 4 stars out of 5. I couldn’t stop laughing at the “Kinky Kelly” screne.

Whoa that is a long ass title so I’m just going to call it Borat. This movie stars Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat Sagdiyev a Kazakhstani TV reporter.
The plot is somewhat irrelevent and sounds pretty stupid. The character Borat is just very funny making weird comments that are supposedly the norm in Kazakhstani culture. Borat meets with several different people in different parts of the USA fom New York, to Hotlanta to being at a rodeo in Virginia(? I forget). It is all around very funny but I wouldn’t say the jokes here as they were rascist. It was funny to have Jacob and the guy next to him wearing kipas.
This movie however should’ve been rated R, as we had some unnecessary penis and ball shots… disgusting but still funny.
I’d give it 4.5 out 5. It was generally on the stupid side of things but there was a lot of hype to it and it didn’t disappoint (which is surprising).

Starring the likes of: Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Benicio Del Toro and directed by Madonna’s hubby Guy Ritchie.
This is similar to a Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which I enjoyed the latter much much more. I really don’t want to divulge in the plot but it involves unlicensed boxing, bookies, robbery, murder, a big diamond and a ton of different characters. I am giving a rating of 3/5 since it wasn’t all that bad but not that great either.

Starring Willem Dafoe as an FBI Agent. Correction a gay FBI agent. Ron Jeremy is also in this movie.. Anyway efore I go off topic, let’s start off with the plot of this movie. This movie is set in Boston where two Irish and very religiously Catholic brothers set out to kill all the evil people in the city, hence killing for the sake of good.
The movie has it’s funny moments including where Willen Dafoe prances like a fairyin the crime scenes and here and there with some comments had myself laughing. Overall though, I felt like there wasn’t enough.. the movie as whole was “alright” inching towards good but certainly not great. It might’ve hurt to have watched The Departed which takes place in Boston and the main characters are Irish as that as a great movie and maybe thats why I felt like this movie was just okay.
I give it a 2.5 stars out of 5.

This is a horror flick which includes many Canadian-born actors (to my surprise). This movie is basically about everyone turning into zombie like things and there are not many survivors. A group of people who meet by chance work together to survive this massacre.
This movie is very solid and it is great for a horror flick. The movie wastes no time in getting to the scares and scares the audience throughout the entire movie. unlike the stupid scary movies, the characters are very smart and still manage to have a lot of difficulty. Anyway this movie has many subplots that make it really good.
I made a mistake saying Shaun of the Dead was a parody of this movie as Shaun of the Dead was actually slated to open on the same day in the UK. This movie is however related to 28 Days Later. I would say 28 days later is a notch up from this but they are really close. I would give Dawn of the dead 3.5 stars out of 5.. really surprising me with how good it was and I was expecting it to suck.
This is the awesome intro to the movie:
