October Sky: Review
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as Homer Hickam which is based on a memoir by Hickam called Rocket Boys (an anagram of October Sky).
This movie is set in Coalwood, West Virginia where all the goals that kids have to hope for are to end up working in the mines just like their fathers. The only way to escape this reality seemed to be through a football scholarship.
Homer becomes instantly amazed with rockets when he sees the Sputnik first lifting off and tries to make some of his own rockets. He ends up receiving help from his friends and they find out that they can get into university if they win a national science fair.
There are many touching themes and a lot of important themes that just make this movie wonderful. The struggle to earn a father’s appreciation of having a different dream etc just make this movie heartfelt and I would recommend this movie. 4 stars out of 5.

Yeah I’m reviewing another Harry Potter movie, hopefully it doesn’t scare my readers away but I’ve got some more reviews to come while I do all the crazy sports analysis (Pi and October Sky are coming!).
Anyway the plot for this Harry Potter flick is about the triwizard’s tournament that Harry Potter is entered in without the rules etc. The plot in this movie isn’t that good (if any) and it just stuck with the action which I didn’t mind all that much. There’s also a bit of the crappy ball room dancing that I wished I skipped through and a little bit of that teen drama that I’d prefer not to see. Also Harry Potter lay off the asian chicks they’re mine!!
It was an alright flick but what bugs me is the critics are giving awesome reviews for it when it wasn’t all that great. Sometimes I just don’t know what the critics are smoking or who’s paying them under the table for everyone to watch the movie. 2.5 stars out of 5. I am starting to dislike reading rottentomatoes now.

Donnie Darko: Review
The plot for this movie is open to many interpretations. I could divulge into a certain interpretation but I’ll just stick to what happens in the movie. This movie is set in 1988 in Middlesex, Virginia. Donnie is a troubled boy who sees a psychiatrist and is one day awoken by a man named Frank who tells Donnie the world is going to end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, 12 seconds. And I am going to stop here, watch the film if you want to figure this out!!
I liked this movie a lot, though I had trouble realizing what things meant as the movie is very open ended. I spent a lot of time googling the meaning of things and yeah it’s rare to be so interested in a movie. I suggust that others watch this movie as I have not seen another movie like this before. If you’ve seen this movie this would seem like a crappy review only because I don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it. 5 stars out of 5!
