The Bourne Supremacy (2004) Review
The Bourne Supremacy is the 2nd film on the Jason Bourne films with the Bourne Ultimatum coming out in this August. The first film was very good and I liked it a lot so expectations were high with good reviews and in general, I felt there was going to be more to develop Bourne’s story.
I have been secretly a big fan of Matt Damon for his work in Good Will Hunting, The Departed, Dogma, the Talented Mr. Ripley and Ocean’s 11. He is no doubt a star.
This movie plot wise was not thick enough. Other then the main plot, which I felt, didn’t develop enough and was weak anyway. Action wise it was pretty good but not the greatest to fully carry a film. This one unfortunately is going to be a bad review but I don’t have too many bad things to say. For failing on impressing me just barely it gets a 2.0 out of 5. Just wasn’t that great of a movie and when I did want to see Bourne Ultimatum after Supremacy I didn’t want to anymore.

Superman Returns (2006) Review

I have been a Superman fan ever since I was a kid and I’ve watched every episode of Smallville since it’s just so awesome and some of my friends have seen this movie as well. Starring Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor and Brandon Routh as Clark Kent.
The cast has some prominent names but while they didn’t do that bad of a job I didn’t feel the intensity of Lex Luthor’s hatred for Clark Kent or I really didn’t feel any chemistry between Clark and Lois that I kind of expect. Michael Rosenbaum should have been Lex Luthor as he is THE reason to watch Smallville. It really doesn’t matter who Superman is to portray by but there are a few problems I have in the movie.
It was hard to like Superman in this movie as while he is inhuman and an alien he had no real personality…he felt lifeless with all his super-human abilities. Characters in the Marvel franchise has character flaws and has their own troubles while Superman doesn’t have that many problems but by the same old kryptonite. This movie really didn’t give that many problems for the farm boy and really didn’t leave much to like about him.
Add to the fact that I wasn’t warming up to the cast and I was actually starting to hate Superman more and more as the movie went on, this movie was also boring. I wanted to fall asleep at the start and it didn’t improve throughout. This movie sucked for a super hero movie and I didn’t give a great review for Superman 3 which in comparison was a lot better movie then this. As a barometer I would say 2.5 is an “okay”/”meh” type of movie but decent enough. Obviously anything lower or higher says which movie sucks or is good and this movie sucked major major C*ck. 0.5 out of 5.

Full Metal Jacket is directed by the late great Stanley Kubrick and is based in 1968 during the Vietnam War where life as a soldier is seen as ugly. In the picture, yes they are grabbing their nuts in addition to holding a gun.
The movie is different from most war movies as I’ve seen as most of them are revolve around the action. This movie is about the training of the war and the shear brutality of it and not so much about seeing blood splatter. Most of the chants were very random and funny and in general the script itself is one that is great and the direction gives a different look on the cruelty of war.
Many of the chants were funny like “this is rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting this is for fun”. I usually like war movies and I was pleased that I was not disappointed and I’m glad I finally saw this. 5 out of 5 for originality, not disappointing and just plain fucking good.
Here is a clip of the movie:

No commentsMinority Report (2002) Review
Minority Report starred the likes Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell and directed by Steven Spielberg. I saw a bit of this movie on ABC and decided to download it and watch it in full without the annoying TV breaks.
This movie takes place in the future specifically in 2054 where in the District of Columbia there is a new project in experimentation such that murders are prevented entirely before they occur and the perpetrators are put into jails before they commit the murders. It sounds perfect but it all goes wrong when detective John Anderton (Cruise) is accused of planning a murder though he doesn’t know what happens and thinks it’s a conspiracy.
This movie unfolds wells and the futuristicness of this movie is very original and cool. It was cool to see how they did the future of advertisements and many other cool gadgets. This movie was simply solid and good. 4.25 out of 5 but nothing special…
No commentsKnocked Up (2007) Review
I saw Knocked Up on the release date but due to having a backload of movies to review I decided today would be a good day to review this comedy. Directed by Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin), in the comedy Knocked Up he brings back Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann (annoying girl in car). The movie is about Ben Stone a guy out of school who just hangs out with his friends smoking weed ends up meeting Allison an upcoming TV host and he gets lucky with her and they end up having a one night stand. She ends up pregnant 8 weeks later and they try to form a relationship for the baby’s sake.
This movie is absolutely funny and it had me laughing like a girl for 90% of the movie. Yes, it’s a romantic comedy but it is not really sappy like other romantic comedies. Unlike most comedies if I watched this again, I probably would be laughing just as much. You have all kinds of humour, subtle or random stupid funny. Both work well in keeping the movie going. Many things happen in the movie so while my plot outline above is very short that is just the meat and bones. It has some serious stuff to it like marriage, dealing with pregnancy, issues such as growing up in live and giving up freedoms when starting a family.
This movie was better then 40 Year Old Virgin and I really liked 40YOV. This easily gets 5 out 5.
The celebrity cameos were very funny and had a nice touch to it and the Spiderman 3 jokes were also random (LOL just thinking about it). Here’s a deleted scene (language warning):

Reservoir Dogs (1992) Review
Reservoir Dogs was the first feature film by Quentin Tarantino and was seen as highly rated though behind Pulp Fiction. It’s a semi-low budget movie but as I am getting accustomed to Tarantino’s movies I find that all his scripts are excellent.
The movie is about the Reservoir Dogs though they are never referred to as that in the movie. They are caught in bank heist such that it seems as if there is a rat or snitch in their group. They all begin to suspect one another and to find out what happens you just have to watch.
All the characters were excellent and the movie was very funny. I think my favourite character has to be Mr. Pink as he is by far the funniest guy. The whole crew did a great a acting job and it’s funny to see Quentin as part of the movies as I can’t really help but laugh every time I see him in the movie.
I am not sure this garners 5 out of 5 material but I will say I liked it a lot and a little bit more then Pulp Fiction. Last time I checked this happened to be my world so I’ll give the movie a 4.9 out of 5 as it was excellent but I wouldn’t say it’s a favourite.
1 commentMemento (2000): Review
Memento was directed by Christopher Nolan who also directed The Prestige, Insomnia and Batman Begins. The movie stars Guy Pearce as Lenny or Leonard as he likes to be called as a man with Anterograde Amnesia a condition where a person can not form new memories and suffers from short term memory loss. Lenny uses notes, photos and tattoos to solve a murder mystery that resulting in the raping and death of his wife.
This movie lived up to its billing. It is kind of hard to watch at first because of the state of confusion everything is in. The movie follows Lenny’s acts backwards and it gives the great effect of you feeling like the main character in the state of confusion. I loved this movie a great deal, and it is a recommended movie for EVERYONE. My jaw dropped at the ending and I have to give it a 5 out of 5 as one of the best movies I’ve seen.
